Having a little boy it seems to be all about the sport team and being on the "right" one... ugghh. I made a mistake in the sign up for our try at baseball this spring. My son ended up on a team with children a grade behind him. At first I was very uneasy about the whole thing (those other super mom's at school managed to fill out the form right!), but you know, it worked out! Colin didn't mind. He had a smiliar skill level as those younger kids. (this single mom hasn't spent much time tossing the ball around with him). He got to feel like a leader, and he had the best coach who really took an interest in Colin's sucess. Sometimes things happen for a reason and that was a good lesson not to stress so much over the little stuff! :)

Thanks Karen, I could sure relate to your story...hope no one noticed that Colin wore black socks with his navy blue uniform for 7 out of the 10 games! :)

I am incredibly impressed with your determination. I too entered the ballet world this spring. Your story is an inspiration to me! I was one of the moms who landed in the dust holding the expensive tap shoes in one hand and the pink get-up in the other. We just couldn't hack it. Last fall we decided to try gymnastics. Why we switched to ballet I will never know. I suppose it was the allure, the "pretty in pink" promises.

The experience taught me that we're more of the tumbling type than tippy toe tappers.
